Manage Warranty Issue Access and Collaborators

Understand who can view warranty issues and share access with individual collaborators or groups.

Written by Hannah Weidman

Warranty issue access for owners, subcontractors, and external users depends on how the issue was created and who it has been shared with. You can add individual collaborators or groups to give additional users access and keep them informed about issue activity.

Understand who can view an issue

Review how the issue was created to understand who already has access.

How the issue was created

Who has access

Submitted through the Warranty Request Portal

Once the request is approved, its creator is automatically added as a collaborator. GC users and Project Delivery invitees also have access.

Submitted through the owner’s Project Delivery portal

Project Delivery invitees can see requests submitted by other Project Delivery invitees.

Created directly by the GC

Only GC users have access by default. To give external users access, add them as collaborators.

Warranty collaborators can view the issue and receive notifications when activities, updates, or comments are logged.

Add an individual collaborator

Share an issue with a specific person when they need to follow its progress or participate in resolving it.

  1. Open the warranty issue.

  2. Scroll to Collaborators and click Add Collaborators.

  3. In the Share Issue window, find the dropdown under Collaborators.

  4. Search for the person by name or email address and select them.

  5. Click Add Collaborator.

  6. Click Done when finished.

The collaborator receives an email with a link to view the warranty issue.

Contact missing from the list? You can only select users who exist in the project directory. Add the contact to the appropriate company under Directory → Companies, then return to the issue to add them as a collaborator.

Add a group

Share an issue with a saved group to give all its members access.

  1. Open the warranty issue.

  2. Scroll to Collaborators and click Add Collaborators.

  3. Under Groups, select the group from the dropdown.

  4. Click Add Group.

  5. Click Done when finished.

All contacts in the group receive an email with a link to view the issue.

You can also click Create new group in the Share Issue window. For instructions on setting up reusable groups, see Create Groups for Warranty Issue Collaboration.
